Resident Evil 0

Yea, I know, Resident Evil 0 is technically the 5th game in the series, but whatever. This game really doesn't do much in the way of explaining anything from the first 4 games, but it gives you a good idea of what Rebecca Chambers went through before she met Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 1. (Shout out to Chris.. RE5 Oh Man) You also get to meet a bunch of characters in this that were either dead or about to die in Resident Evil 1.

This game was released on the Nintendo Gamecube, but originally was supposed to be released for the Nintendo 64.

It introduced the 'Buddy System" which allowed you to switch from main characters Rebecca Chambers & Billy Coen. I guess you could say it paved the way for what Resident Evil 5 is going to be, but I haven't played RE5 so I dunno.

It's not a very long game, but it's worth it if you want to know as much as you can about the Resident Evil Series

Look What Showed Up....

It's going to be a great weekend in the Lab :-)

Have A Great Weekend Everybody!

Fallout 3

Fallout 3 caught me by surprise. My brother bought it for his new Playstation 3, not knowing it was a Role Playing Game which he hates. I traded him Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for it... Not a bad trade if you ask me.

The game takes place in the year 2277, 200 years after a nuclear war destroyed Washington D.C. Your character starts his/her journey off as a baby being born. You are born inside of Vault 101. It's an Underground Vault that nobody leaves in order to keep humanity "pure" from the outside world. One day you wake up and your wanted by the Overseer because your father escaped. You decide to escape the Vault and look for him. What happens beyond there is entirely up to you.

The game is cool because it's really up to you to see everything it has to offer. I've been debating on whether or not I should play this again and make evil choices the whole time.. I just might

If your a person who normally doesn't like RPG's, give this game a shot and stick with it. You just might like it.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

I dont think I could ever get enough of the Pokemon series. It's always been the reason why I invest my time and money into any Nintendo handheld system. The battles and the story is pretty much the same, but I never get enough. I draw the line at eliminating the Elite 5. Only once have I collected them all, but that was back when there were only 151. I usually have a troop of about 9 Pokemon, all of which are a different type, that I spoil and level up. Always worked for me... Gotta Catch 'Em All

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

... Feels so much like the Gamecube version, You can use your old Gamecube control

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

...zZZ
Who?

This game makes you use your brain. Seriously.... This game was seriously slept on. It's a Wii Exclusive released back in 2007. It's really cool because you only use the Wii Remote to do everything. It's a very good game that helps you understand what the Nintendo Wii is all about. For Real..

"How You Grip The Wii Remote is the Key"

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

I love how for well over 2 years the promotional pictures that were revealed for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots all came from the 1st Act of the game. I think I saw the whole first act, Liquid Sun, in promotional pictures. This game is the shit.

This game came out right before the Summer of 2008 began. That is a really odd time for anything to come out.

- If you've never played a Metal Gear Solid game before, or in my case didn't really pay attention. Be prepared for a lot of information. 20 years of a story is being wrapped up in extraordinary fashion.

- If this game became a movie, whoever made it should be
slapped in the face. The cinematics in this videogame are
beyond incredible

- Solid Snake is the man, but Liquid Ocelot is cool as hell

"I Have You"

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I love Link.

He's the only character I can play that is so serious, yet so fun. The weight of the world is always resting on his shoulders. The variety of emotions I feel throughout any of Links quests is matched by none. I wasn't prepared for what this Wii-Cube game had in store.

I really don't have much else to say other than play this game if you haven't. It's a classic.

Bioshock

I had no idea what Bioshock was when it came out in the Summer of 2007. I saw the review for it at Gamespot and decided to buy it that day. I went to Gamestop and asked for a copy.
"Did you preorder it" the gamestop employee asks me.
"No"
"Sorry we're out." he says
"ok" I say and begin to walk away.
All of a sudden he pulls out a copy of Bioshock claiming he just found the last one. He then gives me a speech on why I should always preorder with Gamestop.... Fuck that.

... Anyways

Bioshock is pretty fucked.

The game itself is pretty easy to play. You can press a button and the game will tell you what you have to do, and where you have to go in order to do it. Just keep ammo and you'll be fine.

The story to Bioshock is something else. It takes place in 1960. Your character, Jack, is taking a trip to who knows where.. All of a sudden he wakes up in the ocean with fire around him (I think they crashed..) After some bullshit, your boy ends up underwater in the city of Rapture.

This place is fucked up. The beauty of the city is that it explains what it's all about as you progress. The story gets darker and darker as you go. I wouldn't say it's scary, but it's pretty crazy. I played this while I was at a low point and it almost made me lose faith in humanity... Almost

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

This was the first game I played for the PS3. At first I didn't think much about it. The infamous Ratchet & Clank formula was definitely there, but it kinda felt stale. As the game went on it grew into an amazing adventure right in front of my very own eyes. I'll be honest, the only other Ratchet & Clank game I played was Up Your Arsenal which I invested 20 hours in before my file got erased....

That really doesn't matter though because this game has it's own story which is crazy if you actually follow it. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is special because it's one of the very few games I beat more than once from start to finish.

The weapons are ridiculous and are more than enough of a reason to play this game more than once. It's the reason why I did. They improve so much as they level up, its tempting to max them all out.

The graphics were crazy back in 2007, but they might be a little outdated now that Killzone 2 is out. Nevertheless, the graphics for Ratchet & Clank are impressive for a Playstation 3 Exclusive.

Forza Motorsport 2

Before I played this game, I had no clue what Forza was. When I found out that it had something to do with racing, I didn't think much of it. I played it and honestly it's a lot of fun. I was never really a fan of simulated car racing games until this. Forza Motorsport 2 is very user friendly, and the soundtrack is very relaxing. This game is still one of the reasons to own an Xbox 360. Especially since there isn't a full Gran Turismo for the Playstaion 3.

Mirror's Edge

...Nobody Played It For A Reason

Grand Theft Auto IV

... Finally after over 100 hours and a new expansion pack, I'm sick of Grand Theft Auto IV. I realized it while I was playing The Lost & Damned expansion pack. I got a call from a character by the name of Elizabeta.

She wanted me to come to her house in South Bohan for some shit. I realized I was near Middle Park in Algonquin, and drove to her house without looking at the map.... I try not to think of the amount of time I put into this game. I will say I got my moneys worth.

I tried to play Grand Theft Auto 3 this past weekend. I couldn't. The series has evolved into the next generation in every way possible... I could explain how, but that would take too long. The picture of your boy Brucie Kibbutz on the right should explain it all.

Assassin's Creed

Assassins Creed is really cool, but it got robbed of a fair promotion. I couldn't find a promo picture of our main character, Altair, without the dagger he keeps tucked 85% of the time...

The promoters ignored the throwing knives which I thought were cool. I enjoyed watching guards fall from rooftops because of a knife he didn't see coming. The crowd below goes crazy, while I'm climbing a tower 30 yards away.
It's funny, Assassin's Creed came out on the same day as Super Mario Galaxy, and like Mario the story doesn't matter.

I couldn't even begin to explain the story of Assassin's Creed, but I could tell you that the game is a lot of fun. The side missions are repetitive, but they go a long way in improving your technique as an assassin.

I replayed a couple of the assassinations after I beat the game. These were the ones that went horribly wrong except for the fact that I managed to not die and kill my target. They all went better the second time around.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune

If this game became a movie, I honestly think it would suck like the rest of them. The thing that makes Uncharted Drake's Fortune so cool is that it feels like your the star of the next Summer Blockbuster. This game gives you an action story complete with guns, money, and explosions.

Super Mario Galaxy

you know who he is... your parents know who he is... why not play this game?

...Not Convinced?

242 stars to collect makes for a long ass adventure

The levels are unique and very fun to play.

Some of the best visuals on the Wii

... Just in case your wondering,

YES the Princess gets kidnapped by Bowser.

YES, you do face Bowser more than once,
and No the story doesn't matter

...Did you think Super Mario Sunshine was garbage?

This time around though Mario doesn't have the water version of Luigi's vaccum.... After they finished their community service cleaning haunted houses and washing graffiti off of Isle Delfino, Mario & Luigi decided to go do some real work.

Seriously, Super Mario Galaxy is the shit. The Wii doesn't have many games that are geared toward everybody. Either they focus on the casual group, or they focus on the hardcore group(very rare). We all know Mario is the face of Nintendo (Sorry Link,) so how could his game not appeal to everybody?

The factory that set the bar for what a 3d platforming game should be has raised it with this one. Mario is Back... wait he never left

Grand Theft Auto IV *The Hype*

I remember being lost on the streets of San Francisco. Brad and I were trying to get to the Castro, and decided to take the BART. I had no clue how to navigate that shit, and I didn't care. We got off at the wrong stop of course and began to walk around. I remember the first thing I saw when we got out of the station was a billboard of the picture you see above. I'm not gonna lie to you, I got a boner.

Grand Theft Auto IV was supposed to come out October 16th, 2007 back then, and the buzz around the game began in the Spring. I remember the first trailer dropped on Youtube back in March titled "Things Will Be Different." I watched in awe while shots of Liberty City were displayed to the sounds of Philip Glass - Pruit Igoe.

The face of our nameless hero was displayed to the world. Along with a short story about his past, and his hope for a better tomorrow as he walks into Liberty City.

It was official Grand Theft Auto was coming, but things this great take time. The game was delayed until April 29, 2008.

It was cool though, gave me time to enjoy great games like Super Mario Galaxy and Assassins Creed, oh and getting school work done lol.

I remember the day GTA IV dropped I told myself, "I don't care what time I get it, I just have to get it today" (Did anybody else feel like that?) I had classes all day, and I had to take a bus 60 miles north to get to the lab after.

I remember going to Circuit City (R.I.P.) to buy it at 8:30 that night hoping they weren't sold out (I strongly disapprove of preordering video games.) They had 3 copies of the PS3 version left, and I got a $10 gift card for buying it there. I'm going to miss Circuit City man. Was so much better than Gamestop. Real talk.

Part 2 Coming Soon...
